Description V-ATPase D1 is a protein encoded by the ATP6V0D1 gene which is approximately 40,3 kDa. V-ATPase D1 is localised to the cell membrane and is involved in insulin receptor recycling, unfolded protein response, innate immune system, lysosome and metabolism. It is a multi-subunit enzyme that mediates acidification of eukaryotic intracellular organelles. This is necessary for such intracellular processes as protein sorting, zymogen activation, receptor-mediated endocytosis, and synaptic vesicle proton gradient generation. V-ATPase D1 is ubiquitously expressed. STJ96391 was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. This polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of V-ATPase D1 protein.

Function Subunit of the integral membrane V0 complex of vacuolar ATPase. Vacuolar ATPase is responsible for acidifying a variety of intracellular compartments in eukaryotic cells, thus providing most of the energy required for transport processes in the vacuolar system. May play a role in coupling of proton transport and ATP hydrolysis (By similarity). May play a role in cilium biogenesis through regulation of the transport and the localization of proteins to the cilium (By similarity).
