GAPDH Antibodies

Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (better known as GAPDH) is a key enzyme involved in glycolysis where it catalyses the phosphorylation of Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate during the sixth stage of glycolysis.

GAPDH is also cited for its additional function in non-glycolytic processes such as cell membrane fusion, transcription activation transportation of RNA and as an apoptotic initiator. While noting that this enzyme is not expressed consistently throughout all tissues, the enzyme is suitable as a loading control due to its stability and constitutive expression.
