Product name Anti-Phospho-Dynamin (Ser774) antibody (KLH)
Short Description Sheep polyclonal against Phospho-Dynamin (Ser774) (KLH)
Description Dynamin was a member of a group of nerve terminal proteins called dephosphins that regulate synaptic vesicle endocytosis (Cousin et al., 2001; Graham et al., 2002; Tsuboi et al., 2002). Cyclin dependent protein kinase 5 phosphorylates dynamin at Ser774 and Ser778 that are the phosphorylation sites on dynamin phosphorylated in vivo (Tan et al., 2003). Phosphorylation of Ser774 by GSK3 has recently been shown to control activity-dependent bulk endocytosis of synaptic vesicles (Clayton et al., 2010).

Function Microtubule-associated force-producing protein involved in producing microtubule bundles and able to bind and hydrolyze GTP. Most probably involved in vesicular trafficking processes. Involved in receptor-mediated endocytosis .
Post-translational Modifications Constitutively phosphorylated by CDK5 in nerve terminals and dephosphorylated by calcineurin when synaptic vesicle endocytosis (SVE) was stimulated by depolarization-dependent calcium influx.
Cellular Localization Cytoplasm. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Note: Microtubule-associated (PubMed:9725914). Isoform-specific localization (PubMed:9725914). Isoform 2: Cytoplasm. Isoform 6: Cytoplasm. Golgi apparatus.
Tissue Specificity Brain-specific (peripheral sensory neurons).
Sequence and Domain Family Belongs to the TRAFAC class dynamin-like GTPase superfamily. Dynamin/Fzo/YdjA family.
