FITC-Conjugated Secondary Antibodies
Fluorescein isothiocyanate conjugates for flow cytometry and immunomicroscopy
FITC is a fluorophore conjugated directly onto the secondary antibody, absorbing ultraviolet or blue light and emitting a yellow-green light when excited. This makes it a standard green-channel choice for immunofluorescence, immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry work, and it pairs well with DAPI nuclear counterstains and red-channel dyes in multi-colour panels. Our FITC range covers donkey, goat, chicken and mouse host secondaries across mouse, rabbit, rat, chicken, human, goat, HBV antigens and other reactivities.

Goat anti-mouse and goat anti-rabbit IgG (H+L) are the two reactivities most immunofluorescence and confocal protocols reach for first, since a large share of primary antibodies on the market are raised in mouse or rabbit. Both are validated with real staining data below.

Rabbit polyclonals make up a large share of the primary antibody market, so an anti-rabbit FITC secondary is one of the most frequently stocked reagents in an immunofluorescence lab. We supply this reactivity from both a donkey and a goat host, giving a choice of host species where a multi-colour panel needs to avoid cross-reactivity with another secondary already in use.
Anti-Rat and Anti-Chicken FITC Secondary Antibodies
Beyond mouse and rabbit, our FITC range covers rat and chicken IgY reactivities, both goat-host and validated with real staining or flow cytometry data. Rat-raised primaries are common in neuroscience work, and a chicken-host or anti-chicken secondary suits panels built around a chicken IgY primary or an avian model.
More Hosts and Reactivities in the FITC Range
Beyond the validated conjugates above, our FITC range also covers donkey anti-goat, chicken-host secondaries against mouse and rabbit IgG, rabbit-host secondaries against mouse and rat IgG, and an antigen-specific conjugate against hepatitis B surface antigen. These extend the choice of host and reactivity where a panel needs a species combination not covered by the products above.
Monoclonal, antigen-specific for hepatitis B surface antigen.

Matching FITC to your instrument and panel
FITC is excited around 495 nm and emits around 519 nm, in the green channel most fluorescence microscopes and flow cytometers are set up to read by default. It pairs well with a blue DAPI nuclear stain and a red-channel dye such as a DyLight 550 or 594 conjugate in the same multi-colour panel, though it can photobleach faster than some newer dyes under sustained excitation.
Choosing a host and reactivity
Where a panel already uses one host species secondary in another channel, choosing a different host for the FITC conjugate helps avoid cross-reactivity. Not sure which host or reactivity fits your panel? Talk to us and our team can help you select the right products.
