Colloidal gold conjugates for electron microscopy, immunoassay development and multi-label detection
Gold-labelled secondary antibodies carry colloidal gold particles conjugated directly onto the antibody, which then binds a primary antibody attached to its target antigen. Under an electron microscope the gold particles show up as high electron-density regions, giving contrasting dark spots that mark antigen location without a fluorescence or enzymatic step. Different gold particle sizes can be used together in the same sample for multi-labelling experiments, and the same conjugates support ELISA, western blot, IHC and IF, in flow cytometry and other assay formats. Our range covers over 50 conjugates across goat, mouse and rabbit hosts, spanning broad IgG reactivities, immunoglobulin subclasses and fragments, and antigen-specific conjugates for hepatitis B markers and common assay haptens.

Our goat anti-mouse gold range includes the full IgG heavy and light chain reactivity as well as individual IgG subclasses, IgM mu chain and kappa light chain conjugates. This lets an assay target a specific mouse antibody isotype rather than total IgG, useful where a primary panel mixes isotypes and cross-reactivity between them needs to be avoided. All are polyclonal, goat-host, supplied at 2 mg/mL, and validated for WB, IHC, IF and ELISA.
Anti-Human Ig Gold Secondary Antibodies
Anti-human gold conjugates are supplied from two hosts: goat polyclonals covering total IgG and its Fab and Fc fragments, and mouse monoclonals covering the IgG subclasses individually. The fragment-specific and subclass-specific conjugates support assays that need to distinguish IgG subclass or resolve Fab from Fc binding, rather than detecting total human IgG.

These conjugates target hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), core antigen (HBcAg) and e antigen (HBeAg) directly, rather than detecting a species IgG. Each is available from both a goat polyclonal and a mouse monoclonal host, giving a choice of clonality for assay development against the same three markers used in hepatitis B diagnostic and research immunoassays.

Choosing gold for electron microscopy work
Colloidal gold particles show up as high-contrast, electron-dense spots under a scanning or transmission electron microscope, marking antigen location without a fluorescent or enzymatic detection step. Different particle sizes can be used side by side in the same sample, so a multi-label EM experiment can assign a separate gold size to each target the way a multi-colour fluorescence panel assigns separate channels.
